The first finalist of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has been decided

The national teams of Senegal and Egypt faced each other in the first semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, determining the tournament’s first finalist.

The first half ended in a goalless draw and was not remembered for any goals or clear-cut chances. It was a very calm opening half in terms of opportunities, though emotional overall.

In the second half, Senegal continued to apply pressure on the opposition goal, while Egypt mostly focused on defending. However, in the 78th minute, Sadio Mané struck from outside the penalty area to open the scoring.

Egypt stepped up in an attempt to salvage the match, but Senegal managed to hold firm. As a result, the Senegalese side became the first finalists of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
