The finalists of the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells have been determined

On the night of March 16, the semi-final matches of the hardcourt WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells (USA) took place.

The world's number one player, Iga Swiatek from Poland, convincingly defeated Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (WTA 32) in straight sets.

In the lower half of the tournament draw, Maria Sakkari won a three-set thriller against Coco Gauff (USA), who holds the third position in the WTA rankings.

WTA 1000 Indian Wells. Semi-finals:

• Iga Swiatek - Marta Kostyuk - 6:2, 6:1
• Maria Sakkari - Coco Gauff - 6:4, 6:7 (5:7), 6:2

Sakkari and Swiatek faced each other in the final of the Indian Wells tournament in 2022. On that occasion, Swiatek claimed the trophy.
