On Friday, 9 August, two semi-final matches in women's basketball took place at the Olympics. The USA played Australia and France played Belgium.
The Americans did not notice their rivals in the semi-final matches. Australia managed to take only one quarter, the fourth, which was not decisive. As a result, the United States defeated Australia with a score of 85:64 and reached the final of the Olympic Games.
The match between France and Belgium was much more intriguing. The Belgians were better in the first half of the match, but the French were better in the second half and managed to take the game to overtime. The hosts of the Games were stronger there. France won 81-75 and will join the Americans in the final.
