The finalist of the Australian Open 2022, Danielle Rose Collins (WTA 53), won the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.

In the decisive match, the American faced off against Kazakhstan's representative Elena Rybakina (WTA 4). In the first set, both opponents confidently held their serves until the concluding game. Rybakina was supposed to push the set into a tie-break but failed to do so, conceding the set to the American at 5:7. At the beginning of the second set, it seemed like Elena wouldn't be able to challenge her opponent after falling behind 0:2, but she quickly made a comeback, leveling the score. The crucial moment came during Rybakina's serve at 3:4 in favor of her opponent. Collins broke Rybakina's serve and then held her own, sealing the victory in the tournament.

Danielle Rose Collins (USA, 53) - Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, 4) - 7:5, 6:3.

This was the fifth meeting between the tennis players. The head-to-head record now stands at 2-3 in favor of Rybakina. Interestingly, the victory in Miami marked Collins' first triumph in tournaments of this level.
