The final participant in the English Premier League for the 2024/25 season has been determined.
In the decisive Championship playoff match at Wembley, Southampton defeated Leeds United 1:0. Adam Armstrong's precise strike secured the victory for the Saints.
Earlier, Leicester City and Ipswich Town secured direct promotion to the Premier League. Relegated from the elite division at the end of the season were Sheffield United, Burnley, and Luton Town.
Southampton had exited the Premier League, finishing at the bottom of the league table in the 2022/23 season. The Saints have returned to the top flight of English football at the first attempt.
