In the near future, Real Madrid and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will finalize negotiations on a new contract, which will be extended until the summer of 2029.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto from Relevo, the fact that Lunin has become a client of Jorge Mendes' agency has not affected the course of negotiations. The parties are discussing the final details of the deal and will announce it officially soon.

Lunin is determined to become the team's main goalkeeper and is not considering options for transferring to another club. Real Madrid, in turn, acknowledges the significant progress of the goalkeeper and wants to keep him in the team.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid's main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois tore his cruciate ligaments in August and recently suffered a new injury - a meniscus tear during his recovery process last month. As a result, the Belgian will miss the entire season and will not be able to play in the Euro 2024 championship.

In Courtois' absence, Chelsea's loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga initially became Real Madrid's main goalkeeper, but later Lunin won the competition against him. In 24 matches this season, the 25-year-old Ukrainian has kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 19 goals.

Earlier it became known that Real will not buy out Kepa from Chelsea. The Spanish goalkeeper will return to the London club.
