Bologna triumphed over Roma (3-1) in the 33rd round match of Serie A.

Thiago Motta's team delivered an extraordinary performance in the first half, leading 2-0 at halftime. In the 14th minute, Moroccan Oussama El Azzouzi opened the scoring with a beautiful bicycle kick, marking only his second goal of the season. Just before the halftime whistle, Joshua Zirkzee, Bologna's top scorer, found the net with a shot from the left flank.

After the break, Roma quickly regained momentum. In the 56th minute, Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun scored after several attempts following a delivery from the right flank.

However, the guests responded swiftly with a third goal. Alexis Saelemaekers broke free one-on-one with the goalkeeper and capitalized on the opportunity.

Roma's final onslaught fell short, and the match ended in Bologna's favor.

With these three points, Bologna solidified its position in fourth place, now 8 points ahead of Atalanta in sixth. It's worth noting that this season, Serie A will send five teams to the Champions League.

Bologna has never before participated in the Champions League.

Roma sits in fifth place, trailing Bologna by 7 points.
