The ex-Arsenal and Barcelona player retired at 36 years

Famous 36-year-old footballer Alex Song announced the end of his professional career.

The former footballer of the national team of Cameroon, Barcelona, Arsenal, West Ham and a number of other clubs announced his decision by publishing a post on social networks.

“I regret to inform you that the time has come to hang up my football boots. My journey began as a child in Yaounde, playing barefoot on a hard gravel pitch, and it gave me the strength and courage to succeed.

When I moved to France and started playing for Bastia, I thought I had already achieved a miracle. But that was just the beginning: my journey continued through Arsenal and Barcelona, two of the most prestigious clubs in the world. Many people have helped me along the way: my wife, children, family, friends, my agent, coaches and of course my teammates, to whom I will be forever grateful.

The teams Charlton, West Ham, Rubin Kazan, Sion and Artha/Solar7 will forever remain in my heart. I had the honor of playing for the Cameroon national team in 60 matches, and I am very proud of that. I have many wonderful memories that will stay with me forever", - Song wrote.
