The way the Spanish national team celebrated their victory at the European Championship left no one indifferent. Including one European federation, which after the celebration sent a complaint to UEFA.

The Gibraltar federation was outraged about it, which noted the fact of shouting "Gibraltar is Spain", which were heard from the mouths of the newly crowned European champions. Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who was most successful in doing so, said:

“The Gibraltar Football Association will lodge a formal complaint with UEFA over the celebration of the Spanish men's national team's victory at Euro 2024. The Gibraltar Football Association found the celebration of the Spanish men's national team's victory at Euro 2024 extremely provocative and offensive”, reads the statement.

It is worth recalling that Gibraltar is a disputed territory between the UK and Spain. The conflict escalated after the island country left the European Union. Back in the early 18th century, the Spaniards themselves gave up the plot of land after the War of Succession, but they still lay their claim to it today.
