The illustrious forward of Dallas, Joe Pavelski, has announced the culmination of his hockey career. Joe made this decision following his team's exit in the Western Conference finals.

"For me, it's the end. Perhaps it was known for quite some time. I do not plan to return next season. I do not wish to declare it officially, but the plan is not to come back. More will be said about this later. It's still raw, nothing official yet.

I'll need some time to truly gather everything together and make sense of it. Most likely, this was it, and there couldn't have been a better opportunity or a better group of guys to play with," commented the hockey player on his decision.

The forward for the Dallas Stars, who will turn 40 on July 11, amassed 67 points (27 goals, 40 assists) in 82 regular-season games this season, marking his 18th NHL season. However, he was less effective in the Stanley Cup playoffs, tallying four points (one goal, three assists) in 19 games.

The seasoned player has completed 18 seasons in the NHL. He ranks 5th in goals among active players and 7th in games played.

Dallas suffered defeat to the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference finals in six games. This was Pavelski's final opportunity to clinch the Stanley Cup.
