Very unfortunate news for all Aston Villa fans and many English football enthusiasts.

Aston Villa's top scorer, Ollie Watkins, was unable to finish today's second leg match of the UEFA Conference League Round of 16 against Ajax due to an injury.

In the 25th minute of the game, Watkins opened the scoring, but a few minutes later, he landed awkwardly in one of the plays and grabbed his knee. Limping, the footballer left the field.

With 16 goals to his name, Watkins is the second top scorer in the English Premier League this season, surpassed only by Erling Haaland's 18 goals.

Today, Gareth Southgate included Watkins in the England squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. Obviously, he will miss these games.

On Sunday, March 17th, Aston Villa, currently occupying the fourth position in the Premier League, will play away against West Ham.
