The English Football Association (FA) has fined Leeds United.

The reason was an incident that occurred during a match with Newcastle United. During the meeting, one of the fans of the home team pushed the visiting coach Eddie Howe.

Leeds were fined £40,000, with a further £20,000 suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season.

In addition, the club was required to avoid breaches of FA Rule E21.1.

The incident took place in the technical area at Elland Road. West Yorkshire police have already found the culprit and charged him.

The first court hearing was expected to take place in July, but the fan was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison. He was also banned from attending football matches for six years and was handed a life ban by Leeds United.

Leeds has formally accepted that it failed to ensure orderly behavior among its spectators and to prevent the use of inappropriate, offensive, violent or threatening words or behavior.
