The end of an era! Sadio Mane has reportedly announced his retirement from international football
The Senegalese striker is said to have made this decision in a statement seen by a local media outlet.
Sadio Mane will no longer represent Senegal on the international stage. The star striker for the Lions of Teranga is reported to have decided to bring his international career to an end, according to the Senegalese newspaper Le Quotidien.
This decision comes several days after Senegal’s elimination in the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup. However, Sadio Mané’s retirement does not seem to come as a surprise. The 34-year-old Senegalese international had previously announced that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Morocco, would be his final tournament with the Lions of Teranga.
For the Senegal national team, Sadio Mane has made 130 appearances and scored 54 goals. He has also won the Africa Cup of Nations twice with the Lions of Teranga.
