Following the departure of Javier Mascherano, Inter Miami has settled on an interim head coach. With the exit of the specialist, the media buzzed with potential candidates for the hot seat. Names like Xavi Hernandez and Marcelo Gallardo were floated, but the club opted for a different direction.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the club decided not to rush the appointment and has entrusted the team to Guillermo Hoyos. The 62-year-old, who previously served as Inter's sporting director, has already stepped into the role of acting head coach. The management will give him several months to prove himself in this new position.
It’s worth noting that Hoyos boasts a wealth of coaching experience: he has previously worked with Universidad de Chile, Atlético Guadalajara, and has even led the Bolivian national team. Currently, Inter Miami sits third in the MLS Eastern Conference.
