AC Milan's management has decided that Stefano Pioli will not be the head coach of the team next season. Despite his contract being valid for another year, the club plans to part ways with the 58-year-old Italian.

According to Nicolo Schira, the bosses of AC Milan reached this final decision after yesterday's defeat against Roma (1-2) in the Europa League quarterfinals.

Stefano Pioli has been coaching Milan since October 2019. Under his guidance, the Rossoneri won Serie A in the 2021/22 season, and in the previous season, they reached the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.

Previously, Milan was in talks with Antonio Conte, but the former coach of Juventus, Inter, and Chelsea declined the offer.

After 32 rounds of Serie A, Milan is in second place but is trailing Inter by a significant 14 points.
