The date for the hearing of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s appeal has been announced
The Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football will consider the appeal regarding the sanctions relating to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
The saga of the controversial final between Senegal and Morocco on 18 January is entering a new phase. Just when it seemed all was over, the process has been revived to everyone’s surprise. The African Football Confederation’s Appeals Committee has finally accepted Morocco’s appeal and will soon meet to rule on the matter.
The members of this committee will meet on Tuesday 17 March 2026 to consider the appeal lodged by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. If Morocco’s appeal is successful, the process will start from scratch. If the appeal is dismissed, the case will be definitively closed at the level of African football’s governing body. However, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation may appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
