"The core is already assembled." Chelsea owner shares thoughts on the current team

Chelsea currently sits fourth in the Premier League standings and is vying for a return to the UEFA Champions League. Todd Boehly spoke about the current squad.

Details: In an interview with Bloomberg, the American owner of the "Blues" stated that Chelsea has already formed a solid core. The management is fully aligned in their actions. It's a young team with players signed on long-term contracts.

Quote: "It wasn't easy to achieve this, but we succeeded through coordinated effort. If you look past the external noise and just focus on the team, you can see that a strong core is already assembled. This has been a topic of discussion for a long time. But to achieve success, a reliable foundation is necessary. I believe we are following a plan that will ultimately lead the club where it should be," Boehly noted.

In the same interview, he also emphasized that the club currently has a great opportunity to renovate the stadium, although such matters are complex in England. Either everyone agrees with the plan, or alternative paths will need to be sought.

Reminder: Todd owns only 12.8% of the club's shares, while Eghbali holds 62.5%. Therefore, the latter has more influence over the club, however, Boehly has made it clear that he might leave Chelsea if Eghbali does not heed his opinion regarding the future of the stadium.
