The condition of Nottingham midfielder who suffered a horrific injury in EPL match has been known
The condition of Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo, who suffered a horrific injury in yesterday's Premier League match against Bournemouth, has been revealed.
According to The Guardian, Danilo has already been discharged from the hospital following his severe ankle injury. Despite the setback, the Brazilian midfielder remains positive and promises to "return to the field as soon as possible."
"Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I'm okay, thank God, and I'm already home. We'll be back soon, and I want to thank everyone for their words of support," Danilo wrote on his Instagram.
However, Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has confirmed that Danilo faces a lengthy absence.
"It's terrible for all of us. We will miss him, not just on the field. We know him as always smiling, always joyful. He is a very important player for us. We wish him all the best," said the coach.
Danilo sustained the injury during a play in the 7th minute of the match against Bournemouth. The Brazilian midfielder attempted to make a pass while challenging Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo in midfield, but landed awkwardly on his left foot, resulting in an unnatural position.
Referee Michael Oliver immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation and stopped the match, prompting medics to rush onto the field. During the medical assistance, the staff shielded Danilo from the cameras, and he received nine minutes of on-field treatment.
