The coach, who was on Barça's shortlist, has extended his contract with his club

Porto's head coach, Sérgio Conceição, will continue his work at his current club.

Today, Porto officially announced the extension of Conceição's contract until the summer of 2028. His previous contract with the "Dragons" was set to expire after the current season.

Previously, it was expected that Conceição would leave Porto in search of a new challenge, and his name was even on Barcelona's shortlist in case Xavi left.

Conceição has been coaching Porto since the summer of 2017. Under his guidance, the team has played a total of 372 matches: 268 wins, 49 draws, and 55 losses. Conceição has led Porto to victory in the Portuguese championship three times and the Portuguese Cup the same number of times.

In the current season, Porto is only in third place in the Primeira, with Braga trailing closely behind due to a worse goal difference.
