The coach of the USA basketball team has responded to whether he plans to start Kevin Durant
USA basketball coach Steve Kerr has clarified whether Kevin Durant will be starting or coming off the bench.
Kerr explained that if Durant had been with the team from the start, he would likely have been in the starting lineup as originally planned.
"Given that he missed all the friendly matches and returned only recently, we had already established a lineup we liked. When Kevin came back, he had minute restrictions in the game against Serbia. He played well and fit excellently into the second unit. It was interesting to watch them," Kerr said.
The coach added that there are no plans to change this arrangement. Durant will gradually increase his playing time as the games become more challenging, but for now, he will continue coming off the bench. However, he will be relied upon more and more.
Additionally, Nigeria is celebrating a triumph. The women's basketball team from Nigeria has captured hearts and elevated African basketball to the global stage, becoming the first team (male or female) from the continent to reach the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games.
