The club, which played in La Liga for the 2023/24 season, nearly suffered an aviation crash
The Spanish football club Cádiz found themselves in an extremely dire situation when their players and staff narrowly avoided an aviation disaster.
This incident occurred in the skies over Spain as Cádiz was en route to a friendly match against the El Salvador national team. The match was arranged in honor of Jorge González, a legend of both Cádiz and Salvadoran football, affectionately known as "El Mágico."
While the Cádiz plane was airborne, one of its engines failed. Fortunately, the pilots managed to execute an emergency landing at Seville Airport. According to an official statement from the club, some team members sustained minor injuries and were left in a state of shock.
A video has surfaced online showing the plane’s engine catching fire mid-flight.
In the 2023/24 season, Cádiz competed in La Liga but finished in 18th place, leading to their relegation to the Segunda División after four years.
