Fernandes' decision to remain in Manchester was also heavily influenced by his family, who live in the city:
"The club wanted me to leave last summer, I remember it well. I told the directors about it, but I think they lacked the courage to make that decision.
I decided to stay, partly due to family circumstances, but also because I really like this club. My conversation with the coach also encouraged me to stay. But from the club, I felt something like: 'If you leave, it won't be that big a loss for us.'
It hurt me a lot. Moreover, I was sad, because I'm a player they have no complaints about. I'm always ready, I always play, whether good or bad. I give everything I have. And then you see players around you who don't VALUE the club as much or DEFEND it the way I do... it's upsetting." Fernandes admitted.
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United from Lisbon's Sporting in 2020 for €65 million. Since arriving at the club, he has played 307 matches, scoring 103 goals and providing 93 assists. Currently, Fernandes is one of the leaders of the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes' current contract with Manchester United runs until 2027, and his transfer value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €40 million.
