The Closing Ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games took place in Paris
The closing Ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games has concluded in Paris, the capital of France.
At the Tuileries Garden, where the Olympic flame is located, Zaou de Sagazan and the Handel-Hendrix Academy choir performed Edith Piaf's song "Sous le ciel de Paris" as a tribute to the host city of the 2024 Games. The Olympic flame was then carried to the Stade de France by one of the key figures of these Olympics, Léon Marchand.
All the main events of the ceremony will take place at the country’s main stadium. Notably, the organizers have promised fans several surprises, which are being kept secret for now.
A parade of flag bearers has already taken place at the stadium.
Then the Olympic rings appeared. In an impressive choreographic performance, the Golden Traveler discovers the Olympic rings, which emerge from the depths of the Stade de France and rise into the air at the center of the stadium.
During this time, French pianist and opera singer Benjamin Bernheim performs the "Hymn to Apollo," while Alain Roche plays the piano, suspended in the air.
Then, the French band Phœnix performed, followed by a closing speech from the head of the 2024 Games Organizing Committee, three-time Olympic champion in canoe slalom, Tony Estanguet. The ceremony concluded with a speech from the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach.
It is worth noting that the next Summer Olympics will take place in Los Angeles, USA, in 2028.
