The choices may surprise. The legendary Mayweather has named the best boxer in the world right now
Legendary former world champion in five weight classes Floyd Mayweather has named the best boxer regardless of weight class right now.
Mayweather mentioned several names that he believes are close to the top. Finally, he made his final choice - Terence Crawford.
"We can put Jerwonta 'Tank' Davis at the top of the Top 10 in the P4P rankings. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez did something amazing when he was able to move up to flyweight and become a flyweight champion, which I haven't even seen him move up to that weight, and he did it.
But at this point, I would put Terence Crawford at the top of the list. He's number one," Floyd said for secondsout.
Crawford hasn't fought since he defeated Errol Spence Jr. in magnificent style last July. That win left him with all four major welterweight belts.
Next time he tries his hand at 154 pounds, his first fight at the new weight will be against Israil Madrimov on August 3.
