The Carrick effect. Manchester United ends Arsenal's 121-game streak
In Matchweek 23 of the English Premier League, Manchester United delivered yet another surprise for their fans. Michael Carrick's side traveled to London and toppled Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The clash ended in a thrilling 3-2 victory for the Red Devils, with goals from Mbeumo, Dorgu, and Cunha. For Arsenal, Merino found the net, while Lisandro Martínez scored an own goal.
Remarkably, this is the first time since December 2023 that Arsenal have conceded more than two goals in a single match. Under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners had gone 121 consecutive games in all competitions without letting in more than two goals.
It's also worth noting that under Carrick, Manchester United have now defeated both Manchester City and Arsenal in succession, solidifying their hold on fourth place in the Premier League table.
