The Cameroonian Association of Football Referees is launching a legal battle against Fecafoot
It is challenging the electoral process of 13 September 2025 by bringing the case before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
At the heart of the dispute is the statement issued by the Electoral Commission of the Cameroonian Football Federation, which summarises the results of the elections for the posts of Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the boards of directors of the departmental football leagues and delegates to the Regional General Assemblies. For the Cameroonian Football Referees’ Association, this document constitutes a formal decision subject to appeal.
In an official notification, the CAS Arbitral Panel declared the Cameroonian referees’ appeal admissible.
Domestic remedies have been exhausted in accordance with Article R47 of the Code and Article 73 of the FECAFOOT Statutes. Furthermore, the appellant has standing to challenge in court any decision taken by FECAFOOT. Consequently, the appeal is admissible. The grounds for the Arbitral Panel’s decisions regarding the CAS’s jurisdiction and the admissibility of the appeal will be set out in the final award.
