The Brazilian winger of Barcelona could move to a club from Saudi Arabia this winter
Barcelona winger and Brazilian national team player Rafinha is potentially eyeing a move to an "important" club in Saudi Arabia during the winter transfer window, as reported by journalist Nicolo Schira.
While no information regarding negotiations or agreements between clubs has surfaced, the reduction in playing time for the Brazilian makes this information quite plausible.
A product of the Brazilian club Avai, Rafinha made his move to Portugal's Vitoria Guimaraes in early 2016. Later that same year, his contract was bought by Sporting Lisbon for €6.5 million. In 2019, the forward transferred to Rennes for €21 million. A year later, Rafinha moved to Leeds for €18.6 million. He landed in Barcelona just last year when his contract was secured for €58 million. Although Transfermarkt indicates the player's contract value at €60 million, considering the eagerness of clubs from the Middle East to secure his signature, it's highly probable that Barcelona would demand a higher fee if an agreement for his sale were reached.
In the previous season, Rafinha played 48 matches for Barcelona, scoring ten goals and providing twelve assists. In the current season, the 26-year-old has appeared in thirteen matches, often coming on as a substitute rather than starting in the lineup.
