In the fifth game, Boston seized the advantage from the first quarter, winning it 28-18, and dominated the second quarter 39-28. Although Dallas outperformed in the final two quarters, they ultimately lost 88-106.

This NBA championship marks Boston's 18th in history. With this, the Celtics have surpassed the Lakers in the number of NBA titles and have become the league's record holders. Golden State ranks third with 7 titles.

The Finals MVP was awarded to Boston's guard Jaylen Brown, who averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game, shooting 44% from the field.
