The big sensation in La Liga! Barcelona did not beat Rayo Vallecano

In the first La Liga match after the international break, Barcelona unexpectedly failed to beat Rayo Vallecano. The Catalans' opponent had occupied only tenth place in the table before the start of the current round.

Rayo Vallecano opened the scoring at the end of the first half: after an unsuccessful free kick, Unai Lopez scored a beautiful long-range shot into the goal of the favourite.

Barça equalised through the efforts of the home side's players: after a cross, Florian Lejeune beat Robert Lewandowski, but shot at his own goal.

Barcelona remains in third place in the table, one point behind Real Madrid and three points behind Girona. Both direct rivals of Xavi's team will play their games of the current round later.

Rayo Vallecano does not win for the fourth consecutive match, but thanks to this draw temporarily moved up to eighth place.

In the next round, Barça will play at home with Atlético Madrid. Rayo Vallecano has an away match against Athletic Bilbao.
