The Benin Football Federation has a new president

Marcellin Bocové was elected this Tuesday 25 August as head of the governing body of Benin football, succeeding Mathurin De Chacus. Following the ballot, in which 79 voters took part, the new FBF president secured 76 votes, thereby securing a large majority.

He will now lead the Benin Football Federation for a four-year term, from 2026 to 2030. Marcellin Bocové must now take action and implement his plan for the development of football in Benin.

Bocové’s programme is based on training, the professionalisation of national competitions, the financial autonomy of clubs and the modernisation of the federation’s administration.

The new head of the Benin Football Federation also aims to improve the performance of the national teams. He has promised to strengthen the early identification of young talent and aims to establish three new training centres.

Marcellin Bocové wishes to draw inspiration from the Senegalese and Ivorian models in order to breathe new life into Beninese football. His term of office will therefore be characterised by a focus on training and organisational development, with the aim of enabling Beninese football to reach new heights.
