Barcelona defender Sergi Roberto commented on rumors about a potential move to Inter Miami or Brazilian club Palmeiras.
The 31-year-old Spaniard's contract with Blaugrana expires in June 2024, and negotiations for its extension are ongoing.
According to the player, his desire is to remain at Barcelona, but he is open to testing his skills in the American league in the future. It's worth noting that his former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets currently play for Inter Miami.
"I'm only talking to Barça. At the moment, I'm not going to go to another team.
Rumours on Inter Miami or Palmeiras... all lies. I’d like to try MLS experience in the future, but it is not yet the time for it", - said Sergi, as quoted by renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano.
Sergi Roberto has been with Barcelona since 2013. The right-back has played a total of 355 matches for Blaugrana, scoring 17 goals.
In the current season, the 31-year-old has been sparingly featured in the starting lineup, participating in only six matches across all competitions (four in La Liga, two in the Champions League), scoring one goal. Recently Roberto recovered from an injury and rejoined the team's regular training sessions.
Barcelona currently holds the fourth position in the La Liga standings. There have been reports suggesting that the club's management is considering parting ways with Xavi due to unsatisfactory results.
