Basket News reports that the Australian national basketball team has unveiled the preliminary roster for the 2024 Olympic Games.

The head coach of the national team has summoned 22 basketball players for preparation towards the Games. Notably absent from the list is Brooklyn Nets' player Ben Simmons, who had expressed readiness to compete in the Olympics. It's worth recalling that Simmons prematurely concluded his season back in March due to back issues.

Australia's adversaries in the group stage will be Canada, Greece, and Spain.

The complete roster of the Australian national team includes: Josh Giddey, Josh Green, Joe Ingles, Xavier Cooks, Dyson Daniels, Matthew Dellavedova, Dante Exum, Sam Froling, Johnny Ferfî, Chris Goulding, Nic Kay, Jock Landale, Will Magnay, Will McDowell-White, Jack McVeigh, Patrick Mills, Keanu Pinder, Duop Reath, Matisse Thybulle, Dejan Vasiljević, Jack White, and Rocco Zikarsky.

It's worth noting that Milwaukee Bucks' star and leader Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered an injury during a regular-season NBA match against the Boston Celtics. He sustained damage to his calf muscle, which could prove to be severe, and the Greek basketball player is unlikely to return to the court before the end of the regular season.
