The contract of AC Milan forward and French national team player Olivier Giroud is set to expire at the end of the current season, and the player himself has no intention of extending it. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Giroud wants to switch from the Italian club to Major League Soccer (MLS) and has already identified two teams for this purpose.

According to the source, the Frenchman remains hopeful of moving to either New York or Los Angeles, with negotiations with teams from these cities gaining momentum. The 37-year-old player has not yet made a final decision, but is likely to leave Milan on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

Giroud has been with Milan for his third season since joining from Chelsea for €2.85 million. Before that, he spent four seasons with the Blues and six years with Arsenal. According to the statistical portal Transfermarkt, the current value of the player's contract is €4 million.

Milan has already identified several possible options to strengthen their attacking line this summer, including Santiago Giménez, Jonathan David, Víctor Gómez, Benjamin Sesko, and Joshua Zirkzee.
