The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will not be postponed
The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football confirmed this on Friday 13 February.
This puts an end to speculation surrounding the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Meeting today in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the CAF Executive Committee has made its decision.
No postponement is planned for the 36th edition of the continental tournament. The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will therefore take place as scheduled. It will not be postponed to 2028, as some rumours had suggested.
In his press conference after the Executive Committee meeting, CAF President Patrice Motsepe dismissed as unfounded the allegations that the tournament would be postponed.
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, which are jointly organising the competition, will continue with their preparations.
