The 2024 Olympic basketball finalist has a new head coach

In the final of the 2024 Olympic basketball tournament, the French national team lost to the USA with a score of 87-98. Following that game, head coach Vincent Collet departed from his position, and the team has now appointed a new mentor.

Details: The French Basketball Federation announced that Frédéric Fauthoux has been named the new head coach. He is a former playmaker for the French national team. Fauthoux spent five seasons coaching Levallois and then worked for two years on the ASVEL staff. In 2022, he took over at Bourg, leading the team to the EuroCup final.

Reminder: Vincent Collet had been at the helm of the national team since 2009 and is the most decorated coach in France's history.

He won EuroBasket 2013, earned silver at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, was a runner-up at EuroBasket in 2011 and 2022, and secured bronze at EuroBasket 2015 and the World Championships in 2014 and 2019.

Additionally, Givemesport recently published a ranking of coaches with the highest earnings, with Golden State's Steve Kerr topping the list.
