Real Madrid's management has made a dramatic decision.

Details: Today, on Real Madrid's official page on the X social network, it was announced that 44-year-old Spanish coach Xabi Alonso has been dismissed from his position as head coach of the team.

It is reported that both parties have mutually agreed to terminate the contract.

One of the unofficial reasons for the dismissal is believed to be yesterday's defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona, as well as the challenging atmosphere within the squad.

Xabi Alonso was appointed as Real Madrid's head coach in June 2025. He managed 34 matches at the helm, recording 24 wins, 4 draws, and 6 losses, but failed to secure a single trophy with the "Galácticos."

Real Madrid thanked Alonso for his work, stating that he will always be a welcome guest at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Reminder: The sweetness of triumph! Barcelona defeat Real in a wild Spanish Super Cup final to claim their first trophy of 2026
