After the Champions League match, Chelsea fired back at Barcelona for their tweet reminiscing about Andrés Iniesta’s iconic goal against the Blues.
Details: Before the 5th round Champions League clash, Barcelona posted a photo on social media from the legendary 2009 match, when Andrés Iniesta scored that unforgettable goal to send the Catalans to the final. The caption read: “That shot. That scream. That night.”
However, following a commanding 3-0 victory in this season’s fifth round of the Champions League, Chelsea responded to that tweet with a similarly styled photo—this time featuring Estevão’s goal and echoing the same caption.
Following their head-to-head in the Champions League, Chelsea now sits seventh in the table with ten points, while the Catalans are in eighteenth place with seven points.
Reminder: Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella revealed that it was painful for him not to be given a chance to prove himself at his boyhood club Barcelona.
