"Thanks to me, people started watching football" - Lamine Yamal delivers another bold interview
Yamal believes he has made a huge impact on the development of football.
Details: The 18-year-old winger from Barcelona and the Spanish national team, Lamine Yamal, has once again given a controversial interview, claiming that despite his young age, he has already made a significant contribution to the game. According to Yamal, children have started wearing football kits again and fans have returned to watching matches because of him:
"People have told me that thanks to me, they've started watching football again. My mom now watches every match. Kids had stopped wearing football shirts to school, but now that trend has come back.
Even tourists here in Barcelona are buying Barça shirts with the number 10 on the back. That made me realize something. It's hard to live like a regular 18-year-old guy. Even if I wanted to, I never could. Any other kid just goes home from school.
But I go to training, and there are photographers outside my house, plus kids on the street wearing shirts with my number.
It's strange, because when I was little, I was never a dribbler. I was more of a goal scorer and I ran a lot. I'd describe myself as a fun player. I think that's the best word. In the end, the goal is for people to enjoy themselves and to bring a little bit of a show to football." Yamal said.

Earlier, Barcelona had banned Yamal from giving interviews without club approval due to his frequent outspoken remarks, which often drew the club into scandal.
This season, Yamal has played 14 matches for Barça, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists.
