Girona will now have to search for a new head coach.
Details: Today, Girona's official account on social platform X announced that the team's 50-year-old Spanish head coach, Míchel Sánchez, has officially left his position.
The parties were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract, which led to the departure of the Spanish specialist, whose current deal was set to expire in just one month.
Míchel took charge of Girona in 2021 and managed to take the club to a new level, even guiding Girona to the Champions League for the 2024/25 season.
During his tenure, he managed the team in 221 matches, recording 91 wins, 47 draws, and 83 defeats.
Unfortunately, at the end of the current season, Girona finished 19th in La Liga and was relegated to the Segunda, a factor that also played a role in Míchel's departure.
Recall: Contract prepared. It is known who will lead Ajax next season
