Kaizer Chiefs wasted no time in sealing the deal for a player departing from their arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates.

Details: Last Friday, reports emerged that Thabiso Monyane might be swapping the “Buccaneers” for the “Amakhosi,” and just yesterday, The South Africa revealed that Thabiso had indeed signed a contract with Kaizer Chiefs.

A few hours later, Monyane himself confirmed the news, sharing a heartfelt farewell letter to Orlando Pirates:

"As I close this chapter of my life, I am filled with mixed emotions—sadness as I leave the only football home I have ever known, but also excitement for the new journey ahead. Having joined the club from the age of 12 to 25, I realize this club has meant everything to me. I have grown as a player, but more importantly, as a person. I am grateful for the trophies we've won, the memories we've created, and the friendships that will last a lifetime. To the fans—thank you for your unwavering support. Your applause, chants, constructive criticism, and passion have fueled me every step of the way. I will never forget the electric atmosphere you created on matchdays.

"To the chairman, staff, technical team, and players, past and present, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and camaraderie. Each of you played a role in shaping me into the player I am today. As I embark on a new journey, I will always carry with me the lessons, values, and memories of this club. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to represent this amazing club and to be a part of its history. Thank you, Orlando Pirates, for an unforgettable 13 years," Monyane wrote on his social media.

Reminder: Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates continue their transfer market war
