A Saudi Arabian football match has been thrown into chaos amid a wave of attacks on the country's airports.

Details: According to Saudi media, Al-Faisaly's delegation was unable to reach Abha on Saturday, October 10, ahead of Sunday's Saudi Pro League clash against Abha. A source at the home club confirmed that flight-related complications had prevented the visiting team from arriving on schedule. The incident occurred against the backdrop of Houthi attacks on Saudi aviation infrastructure.

The security situation in Saudi Arabia has deteriorated dramatically in recent days. On October 7, attacks on airports in Abha and Riyadh resulted in casualties, while another deadly strike on Riyadh's airport on October 10 caused major flight disruptions. Several airlines suspended or rerouted services amid the escalating violence.

Initial reports suggested that the match between Abha and Al-Faisaly would be postponed by just 24 hours. However, the Saudi Pro League subsequently confirmed that the fixture, originally scheduled for October 11, had been officially rescheduled for October 27. The league cited circumstances beyond the clubs' control but did not explicitly identify the attacks as the direct cause of the postponement.

It's worth noting that neither team has recorded a victory in the opening seven rounds of the Saudi Pro League season. Al-Faisaly have collected three points, while Abha sit bottom of the standings with just two.
