The fourth stage of the Tour of the Basque Country turned into a horrific crash. A mass fall occurred in the peloton at the turn of the high-speed descent.

As a result, many leaders of the classification were injured, including Primoz Roglic, Jay Vine, and Remco Evenepoel. However, Jonas Vingegaard suffered the most, as he was carried away from the crash site on a stretcher.

It is already known that Vingegaard, like Vine, is in the hospital. Their condition is stable.

The winner of the fourth stage was South African cyclist Louis Meintjes.
