Spanish rider Alex Márquez was involved in a serious crash during the Catalan Grand Prix, resulting in his hospitalization. The incident occurred on lap 12 and immediately brought the race to a halt.
During the race, leader Pedro Acosta encountered technical issues—his bike's engine failed right on the high-speed straight. The Spaniard tried to warn his rivals, but there was barely any time to react.
Following close behind, Alex Márquez was unable to avoid the collision and slammed into Acosta's bike at high speed. After the impact, Márquez's machine was thrown sideways, and the rider, along with his bike, was sent flying into the safety barriers, flipping several times in mid-air.
Medical staff responded quickly, providing immediate assistance to the Spaniard on the track before sending him to hospital for further examination. Later, it was reported that Alex Márquez was conscious after being admitted. His condition continues to be monitored by doctors.
