Sergio Ramos’ wife, Pilar Rubio, has declined to relocate to Mexico following his transfer to Monterrey, Bild reports.
According to journalist Javi de Hoyos, Rubio is tired of constantly moving and has decided to stay in Madrid. She previously followed Ramos to Paris (during his PSG stint) and Seville, but this time, she has put her foot down.
"When Ramos made this decision, she said: "This time I will not give in, I have already given in twice. Now I am staying here, in Madrid. The family is staying here, Sergio is going alone,’" de Hoyos revealed.
Another possible reason for Rubio’s reluctance to move is her career. She is a popular model, TV host, and reporter in Spain, where she is set to appear as a judge on Antena 3’s El Desafío and in the fashion reality show Maestros de la Costura Celebrity.
Ramos and Rubio have been together since 2012 and married in 2019. They share four children.
The 38-year-old defender has signed a one-year contract with Monterrey and is set to return to action after a six-month break from football.
