Last season, throwing tennis balls onto the football pitch became a widespread form of protest in the Bundesliga against an initiative that allowed clubs to attract private capital. It seems that discontent has now spread to Ligue 1 fields.

The match between Lens and Nantes was suspended in the 12th minute after fans showered the pitch with tennis balls, expressing their protest against the actions of the French league's management.

The main banner read: "His leadership angers the crowd. Thank you LFP," accompanied by signs that read: "Pressure on clubs," "Managers' salary increases," "Match scheduling," "Collective punishment," "Disciplinary Commission," "TV rights management."

According to RMC, this incident was not isolated. On Friday, the Ligue 2 match between Red Star and Troyes was also interrupted due to fans throwing tennis balls onto the pitch. A similar incident occurred in September during the Lorient - Red Star match.

The main dissatisfaction, as reported by RMC, concerns changes to the match schedule made at the request of beIN Sports. It is also worth noting that this week, an investigation was conducted at the house of Ligue 1 president Vincent Labrune in connection with the deal with CVC.
