Manchester United's head coach, Erik ten Hag, shared his thoughts on the 18-year-old talent, Kobbie Mainoo, who secured victory for the team against Wolverhampton (4:3) in the dying seconds yesterday.

“Mainoo is just everything a modern midfielder needs to be. It's wonderful to see and I hope he stays calm like he is, as he did with his goal as well. He is determined, he is a good character and I hope he keeps going with this progress”, – quoted ten Hag by Sky Sports.

Manchester United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, also mentioned that he noticed Mainu two years ago.

"He is a big talent. I have seen him play for the under-18s and I said a couple of years ago the name of Kobbie without knowing if he would come and play for the first team".

This season, Mainoo has appeared in 8 Premier League matches for Manchester United. His goal against Wolverhampton was his second for the club, following a previous one against Newport in the FA Cup.

Erik ten Hag actively featured Mainoo in the starting lineup during preseason training, but he missed the start of the season due to injury.
