Ten Hag has no intention of giving up on winning the EFL Cup
Manchester United in the post-Ferguson era can't boast serious victories like the Champions League or Premier League, so every trophy is important for the Red Devils. In the last two seasons, the Mancunians have won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, and head coach Erik ten Hag does not intend to give up the latter.
The Manchester United manager said that he does not consider these trophies unimportant, and the team will chase every victory possible:
‘I wouldn't say they are insignificant - the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. They are significant. I see the attention from all the teams, all the owners, all the managers when they win trophies like Liverpool did last year and I see all the teams fighting for them. We want the same thing. In football, winning trophies is very important and our goal is to win all the games if possible,’ The Mirror quoted ten Hag's statement as saying.
We will remind, on 17 September at 21:00 CET Manchester United will start in the EFL Cup with a match against Barnsley.
