Tembetary Appoints Veteran Journeyman Cristian Díaz as New Head Coach

In a surprising move, Paraguayan side Tembetary has announced the appointment of Argentine coach Cristian Díaz as the new manager of their senior team. The club made the official announcement on Wednesday via social media, welcoming the 48-year-old strategist who arrives after his recent spell at Peruvian club Cienciano.
According to Versus, Díaz began his coaching career at Independiente de Avellaneda in 2012, the same club where he was developed as a player. Since then, his managerial journey has taken him across South and Central America. He has overseen clubs such as Deportes Iquique (Chile), San Martín de Porres (Peru), Olimpo, Quilmes, and Deportivo Morón (Argentina), Santa Tecla (El Salvador), and Bolivian sides Royal Pari, Jorge Wilstermann, and The Strongest.
At Cienciano, Díaz coached 22 matches, tallying 9 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses. His departure came after a difficult stretch of results, with four consecutive draws followed by a defeat. Despite this, his wide-ranging experience and adaptability to different football cultures made him an appealing option for Tembetary, as they seek new direction after parting ways with Arturo Villasanti.
