Team USA sensationally loses in WNBA All-Star Game
Today in the USA, the WNBA All-Star Game took place – a traditional event for the league. However, the format of the game differed from the usual. At the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Team USA faced off against a team of other WNBA stars. This was only the third time in history that the All-Star Game followed this format.
Before the game, Team USA was considered the clear favorite. However, their opponents put up a valiant fight. The WNBA stars won the first quarter by one point (24-23), but lost the second by three points (28-31). Entering the second half with a two-point deficit, Team USA was decisively beaten in the third quarter (25-36), and their victory in the final quarter (30-29) was not enough to secure the overall win.
