Bayer Leverkusen has taken a crucial step to secure its squad for the future.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the German club has reached an agreement to extend the contract of their key defender Edmond Tapsoba.
Under the terms of the new deal, the player's salary has been significantly increased, now matching the level of some of the highest-paid defenders in European football.
It is reported that the club previously rejected an official €40 million offer from a Premier League side, making it clear that they value the 27-year-old far higher in their project.
Notably, this season the defender has made 41 appearances for the Leverkusen club, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €35 million.
Reminder: The Turkish giant beat Barcelona in the race for Bayer defender Alejandro Grimaldo.
